What should have been a joyful moment ended up as a clear display of political discrimination that quickly went viral. Lucía, a young woman from Palermo, had started the process to adopt a kitten and had already received confirmation from the rescuer who was fostering it.
However, everything changed when the woman, identified as Silvia, decided to check the social media profiles of the interested party. There she discovered that both Lucía and her partner supported Javier Milei's government, and at that moment she reversed the adoption.
In the chats shared by the young woman on social media, it can be seen how, after having confirmed the animal's delivery, the rescuer sent a surprising message: "There's only one problem: you're a Mileísta. How shocking...".
Faced with the young woman's astonishment, who asked what her political views could possibly have to do with responsible pet ownership, the response was even more striking: "Those are human matters and that affects the kitten. A person who supports that, will they be good and loving with the kitten?"
Despite Lucía's explanations, who assured she had everything ready to provide love and care, the woman never replied again.
"I felt discriminated against, pigeonholed into a stereotype she imagined. I'm concerned that someone who fosters cats applies political filters to decide whether a person can adopt or not. I find it absurd," Lucía told Clarín.
The episode sparked a heated debate on Twitter and Instagram. Thousands of users condemned what happened, pointing out that it was a case of extreme ideological intolerance.
Among the most repeated comments were: "We're not exaggerating when we say Kirchnerism is a mental illness," "They'd rather leave an animal homeless than accept that other people think differently. Unbelievable..." and "The Kirchnerist is the most authoritarian specimen in this country's history."
Meanwhile, the leftist rescuers began to report on their own that as a result of the leaked chats sent to the young woman, they are constantly being threatened on social media and that they can't continue carrying out their work, which they say leaves much to be desired.
