The weather in the AMBA will continue with a marked intrusion of polar air during the first days of July. According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), very low temperatures are expected in the mornings, cold afternoons, and gusts of wind that will increase the thermal sensation.

After a Tuesday with mostly clear skies and a high of 14°C, this Wednesday, July 1st marks the beginning of the most rigorous part of the forecast. Thursday will be the coldest day of the week, and then temperatures will remain low for several days.

Weather for Wednesday, July 1st: wind returns and thermal sensation drops

On Wednesday, there will be a low of 4°C and a high of 14°C in the City of Buenos Aires, with partially cloudy skies for much of the day.

The wind will begin to intensify as the hours go by, and during the night gusts of between 42 and 50 km/h could be recorded, which will cause an even lower thermal sensation. The end of the day will arrive with about 8°C.

Thursday, July 2nd: the coldest day of the week

Thursday will be the most demanding moment from a meteorological point of view. The SMN forecasts a low of 3°C and a high of just 11°C.

A week with polar characteristics

The influx of cold air will leave several mornings with very low temperatures throughout the metropolitan area, especially in the suburbs, where the readings tend to be lower than those observed in the City of Buenos Aires due to the heat island effect.

While the afternoons will offer a slight thermal recovery, the cold will persist for several consecutive days. Thursday appears to be the most critical point of the forecast, while the rest of the week will maintain fully wintry conditions.
