What did William Levy say in court after being accused of several charges?

The Cuban actor pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces and is preparing his legal defense

The Cuban actorWilliam Levy  is making headlines again, this time not for a soap opera or movie, but for an incident that led to his arrest at a restaurant in Weston, Florida. However, far from staying silent, the soap opera heartthrob took a firm stance, pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces, and is preparing his legal defense with the help of a lawyer experienced in high-profile cases.

According to documents filed in Broward County courts, Levy did not have to appear in person. His lawyer, Regina Tsombanakis, was responsible for submitting the written statement in which the actor denies the charges of disorderly conduct and trespassing. Additionally, he requested a jury trial, showing his intention to clarify what happened in court.

The arrest occurred on Monday night after an altercation at the Baires Grill restaurant. According to the police report, Levy was "highly intoxicated" and ignored police instructions not to return to the establishment, which led to his arrest. After posting a $500 bail, he regained his freedom on Tuesday.

Amid the commotion, the actor's defense also requested that the prosecution provide the names of witnesses, as well as any written or recorded statements, both from Levy and his companion that night.

So far, William Levy has maintained a low public profile regarding the incident. He only offered brief statements upon leaving jail, where he denied pushing anyone or refusing to pay the bill. However, according to paparazzo Jordi Martín, who discussed the matter on the show El gordo y la flaca, the actor did share his version of events privately.

According to this version, it all started when his friend questioned the high amount of the restaurant bill, which led to an argument. Levy claims he tried to calm the situation, but the police intervention was immediate, and he ended up being arrested. He also suspects he might have been the victim of a "trap."

The 911 call made by a restaurant employee indicates that both Levy and his companion were aggressive and refused to pay, even after receiving a discount.

The case will now move to the courts, where William Levy will seek to clear his name and clarify what happened.
