WhatsApp has finally launched its native version for Apple Watch, a highly anticipated update that expands the messenger's features on Apple smartwatches. The rollout, which had been anticipated by beta versions, has already begun globally and completely transforms the user experience.
Until now, users could only receive basic notifications and read message snippets. With this new version, WhatsApp offers a full app that allows users to send audio messages, reply to chats, and even manage calls directly from their wrist.

What's changing with WhatsApp's native version for Apple Watch
For years, WhatsApp's integration with Apple's watch was very limited. According to Phone Arena, "users could only see alerts and the first line of a message." Now, with the native version, the experience is much smoother and independent from the iPhone.
It allows users to read full messages, even the longest ones.
Users can record and send audio messages directly from the watch.
It's possible to react with emojis without opening the phone.
Users can view images and stickers more clearly.
It allows users to see who's calling and accept or reject calls without unlocking the iPhone.
It includes the option to start new conversations without relying on a previous notification.
Requirements to install WhatsApp on the watch
To download the app, users need an Apple Watch Series 4 or later with watchOS 10 or a newer version. In addition, just like on watches with Google's Wear OS, the app requires being linked to an iPhone. In other words, it doesn't work completely independently: it syncs with the phone to operate.
