The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued a yellow alert for storms this Thursday, November 20, covering much of Buenos Aires, including CABA, and five other provinces: Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, Córdoba, La Rioja, and San Luis.
The phenomenon began in the afternoon and is expected to continue into the night, with weather conditions that could complicate circulation and cause flooding.

Yellow alert in Buenos Aires: which areas are affected
According to the SMN, the region will face rain and storms of varying intensity, some locally strong. The agency warned that the events could include:
- Heavy rainfall in short periods
- Frequent electrical activity
- Gusts exceeding 47 mph (75 km/h)
- Occasional hail
The estimated accumulated rainfall is between 1.6 and 2.8 inches (40 and 70 millimeters, although higher values are not ruled out in specific areas. In addition, in parts of eastern Buenos Aires, including AMBA, south winds are expected with speeds between 19 and 31 mph (30 and 50 km/h) and gusts that could reach 47 mph (75 km/h).

Precipitation began during the afternoon and, according to the SMN, will increase in intensity toward the night, with probabilities of strong storms ranging from 70% to 100%. Southeast gusts of up to 43 mph (69 km/h) are also expected, which could worsen the situation in vulnerable areas.
