With a speech full of lies, Mauricio Macri's PRO launched the Buenos Aires campaign.

The PRO of the center-left former president Mauricio Macri officially launched its campaign for the legislative elections on May 18 with an event held at the Planetarium in the City of Buenos Aires.

The event, characterized by a speech full of lies, was attended by the main figures of the party and the candidates who will seek a seat in the Legislature.

The participation of former president Macri, along with the mayor of Buenos Aires Jorge Macri and the campaign manager María Eugenia Vidal, gave the meeting strong political support and made clear the focus of the day: to try to highlight the management of the PRO and hide the serious problems facing the City.

With a small turnout of supporters in the Palermo neighborhood, who, just like Kirchnerism does, were brought in buses, the event served to try to emphasize the achievements in infrastructure, security, and public services reached over the years of the party's government in the city.

The ones in charge of presenting the candidates were Rocío Figueroa and Darío Nieto, who then gave the floor to the main leaders.

"This team transformed the city," expressed María Eugenia Vidal, the failed governor of Buenos Aires, who emphasized the joint effort that, according to her, allowed Buenos Aires to be modernized and made safer.

Macri's lies

One of the most relevant moments of the campaign event was the participation of Mauricio Macri, who was accompanied by several key PRO leaders. In his speech, the former president highlighted the path traveled by the party in the City of Buenos Aires and claimed the achievements obtained over these years.

While the city faces serious problems with cleanliness, insecurity, and the management of public resources, Macri stated that, according to him, "today, the city is an example of progress, modernity, and security, something that can't be ignored."

In an act of audacity, Mauricio Macri attributed the end of the protests in the City to Jorge Macri, even though they were actually ended by President Javier Milei and the joint work of the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, and the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello, with the anti-protest protocol and the fight against the poverty managers.

Meanwhile, Jorge Macri, the current mayor of the City, also addressed the public and reinforced the message of continuity. "Today we have a city that no longer floods, a city with a better-equipped police force, and a transportation infrastructure that is transforming the mobility of Buenos Aires residents," he noted.

Meanwhile, Silvia Lospennato, who campaigned alongside radical feminism and now heads the PRO's list of candidates, expressed her enthusiasm for being part of the team and thanked the support of the few supporters present.

In her intervention, she emphasized the "values" that identify the political space. "PRO is the space that changed the City, and we will continue to protect everything we have built. But we will also build the future of our children and grandchildren," she stated, while Buenos Aires residents notice the City increasingly abandoned.

Lospennato, who is afraid of the rapid advance of La Libertad Avanza in the City, called on the supporters to redouble their efforts. "Today, more than ever, we need to continue building a better future for Buenos Aires residents. This is not just a commitment from those of us here; it is a commitment from all the neighbors who love this City and want to continue improving their quality of life," she concluded.
