Xbox Game Pass expands cloud gaming to more affordable plans
Xbox Cloud Gaming arrives on Core and Standard plans in beta phase, allowing cloud and PC gaming without Ultimate
Microsoft announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming will begin to be available for the Game Pass Core and Standard plans. The feature allows users to play in the cloud and access PC titles without needing to subscribe to the Ultimate plan.
The initial test starts today for Xbox Insider members. They will be able to try cloud game streaming and enjoy PC versions through the official Xbox app. The feature is expected to expand to the rest of the subscribers soon.

What's changing with this update
- Previously, cloud streaming was limited to Game Pass Ultimate.
- Now, the Core and Standard plans will be able to play on phones, tablets, and PCs without additional hardware.
- Access is being expanded to players who were looking for more affordable options.
Microsoft's vision
Jason Ronald, Vice President of Next Generation at Xbox, confirmed that the goal is to make cloud gaming more accessible and affordable. The strategy aims to reach new regions and users who do not have next-generation consoles.
Additionally, the possibility of an ad-supported model is being considered, which would allow users to play certain content for free, further expanding the service's reach.

Context and upcoming releases
The announcement comes at a time of declining Xbox console sales, but the company is not abandoning its hardware plans. Microsoft continues to develop new consoles together with AMD and is preparing to launch ROG Xbox Ally, its portable device, scheduled for October.
The integration of cloud gaming into all Game Pass plans consolidates Microsoft's commitment to expanding its ecosystem.
