The National Meteorological Service issued a yellow alert for storms that will affect large areas of Buenos Aires, including the Autonomous City, along with Córdoba and eleven other provinces during the early hours of this Tuesday. The warning points to phenomena capable of causing damage and temporarily interrupting daily activities.
The provinces affected are Entre Ríos, Santa Fe, San Luis, Santiago del Estero, Tucumán, Jujuy, Salta, Chaco, Formosa, Corrientes, and Misiones. In the metropolitan area, storms of varying intensity are expected, some locally strong, which may be accompanied by intense rainfall over short periods, occasional hail, frequent electrical activity, and strong gusts.
The forecasted accumulated precipitation values range between 20 and 50 millimeters, although in isolated areas these amounts may be exceeded. Meteorological authorities recommended paying attention to the evolution of the situation and taking the usual precautions in the face of such events.
In addition to the general yellow alert for storms, an orange level is in effect in some areas for the same phenomenon. There, heavy rains and storms are anticipated, some locally severe, with intense precipitation over short periods, hail of various sizes, and frequent electrical activity.
