NASA has launched an open call for anyone to send their name to the Moon on the Artemis II mission, scheduled for 2026.
The names will be stored on a USB drive inside the Orion spacecraft, which will fly around the Moon and return to Earth. In addition, each participant will receive a personalized digital boarding pass, a unique keepsake that can be downloaded and shared on social media.

What Artemis II is and why it is so important
Artemis II will be the first crewed flight of the new lunar campaign. The mission will test the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft in deep space, paving the way for future lunar landings.
The crew will consist of four astronauts: Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch (NASA), along with Jeremy Hansen from the Canadian Space Agency. Although they will not land on the surface, it will be a crucial step toward more ambitious journeys, including to Mars.
