The Constitutional Court issued a favorable ruling on the investment agreement between Ecuador and the United Arab Emirates.
The treaty is constitutional provided that its article 20 excludes contractual or commercial disputes between the State and private actors of international arbitral tribunals.The agreement, signed on December 6, 2025 during President Daniel Noboa's visit to the United Arab Emirates, seeks to promote and protect investments between the two countries in a reciprocal way.
Strategic sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, agro-industry, logistics, digital economy, tourism and responsible mining are prioritized.
