A total of 75,000 police and military personnel participated in the operations, supported by caravans of armored trucks, motorcycles and helicopters.

The deployment sought to ensure compliance with the restriction and reduce high-impact crimes in the provinces and cantons most affected by crime.

Among the individual cases, five people were arrested for organizing a “pool” in Durán during the early morning hours.

The curfew will be maintained until March 31, between 23:00 and 05:00. The measure is part of the actions of the Daniel Noboa government to confront organized crime and strengthen citizen security
