The National Electoral Council (CNE) partially accepted the challenges presented by Revolución Ciudadana (RC) and Acción Democrática Nacional (ADN), resulting in the recount of 36 tally sheets from the February 9 elections. Meanwhile, ADN achieved the review of tally sheets in Pichincha, correísmo insists that there are inconsistencies affecting their vote in several provinces.
One of the main complaints comes from the correísta candidate Luisa González, who has taken her objections to the Electoral Dispute Tribunal (TCE).
Among her claims, she states that the process has been irregular and that the results affect the allocation of seats in the National Assembly. However, several of the resources presented by RC have been denied by the CNE, limiting their room for maneuver.
The ruling movement ADN also filed a resource with the CNE, arguing inconsistencies in the tally sheets of constituency 4 of Pichincha. Their candidate, Giovanna Ubidia, denounced that in 296 tally sheets discrepancies are observed that could alter the allocation of a seat in the National Assembly. Although the Provincial Electoral Board of Pichincha initially denied the claim, the CNE reversed this decision and ordered the recount.
