President Noboa promoted security cooperation with Donald Trump
The Ecuadorian leader traveled to the U.S. to strengthen alliances against drug trafficking
Ecuador's President, Daniel Noboa, announced his trip to the United States to hold a key meeting with former President Donald Trump. The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen bilateral cooperation on issues such as security, migration, and trade.
The visit took place at a crucial moment, as the country faces a frontal offensive against criminal gangs. Noboa has sought international alliances to obtain tactical and logistical support in the fight against drug trafficking that harshly affects Ecuadorian society.
During the interview with Radio Centro, Noboa celebrated that while the U.S. cuts cooperation programs in many countries, with Ecuador there is a privileged relationship based on trust and common goals. The conversation with Trump included a proposal for Ecuadorian armed groups to be included in international lists of terrorist organizations.
The president also addressed migration issues with his counterpart, seeking concrete solutions for thousands of Ecuadorians in U.S. territory. In the commercial area, he advocated for establishing fair conditions that benefit both countries within a framework of respect for sovereignty.

Among Noboa's proposals is the elimination of the constitutional article that prevents the installation of foreign military bases. This reform would allow the resumption of direct cooperation, like the one that existed until 2018 with the U.S. base in Manta dedicated to combating drug trafficking.
Additionally, the Ecuadorian president confirmed a new alliance with Erik Prince, former founder of Blackwater, to explore strategic options in security. Although his figure has caused controversy, the government's priority remains to ensure the peace and life of the citizens.
Noboa's visit to the United States represented a firm step toward a more active foreign policy focused on concrete results. His ability to generate international agreements reinforces his leadership in front of a citizenry that demands security and stability.
