President Daniel Noboa appointed Mauricio Montalvo Samaniego as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Ecuador to the Government of South Africa. The decision was made official through Executive Decree No. 604, signed on November 15, 2024.
Previously, Montalvo served as the country's permanent representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), based in Washington D.C. His experience was recognized in Executive Decree No. 605, where the Executive thanked him for his diplomatic services.
Montalvo holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador and a Master's in Law from Harvard University. Additionally, he has a diploma in Public Administration awarded by the National School of Administration in Paris.

He has been a lecturer at various universities in the country and has represented Ecuador before organizations such as the UN, consolidating a diplomatic career that supports his new appointment. His technical profile reflects the government's interest in promoting a foreign policy based on experience and professionalism.
