Last weekend, former Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwellwas intercepted by FBI agents at San Francisco International Airport who seized his electronic devices as part of a federal criminal investigation.
The agents also raided Swalwell's residences—one in California and another located in Washington DC—on Saturday and confiscated his cell phone and other potential evidence, according to the New York Post.
The Democratic politician is accused by four women of behaving in a sexually inappropriate manner. One of the accusers is his former congressional aide, who alleged that Swalwell raped her twice when she was too intoxicated to give consent. Due to these accusations, the former congressman ended his campaign for governor of California on April 13.

A woman accused him of drugging her before sexually assaulting her in 2018. Two other women alleged that he sent them images of his genitals without having been asked. The House Ethics Committee initiated an investigation into him for misconduct and sexual assault since the complaint involves an employee under his supervision, which led Swalwell to resign from his seat in Congress that same day in April.
The former congressman has mostly stayed out of the public eye since then, and he is currently being investigated by the Department of Justice for another matter in addition to his inappropriate sexual behavior: for having a romantic relationship with a Chinese spy known as "Fang Fang". In this regard, Swalwell confessed to the FBI that he had "had casual encounters" with Fang.
Swalwell's wife, Brittany Watts, has not made any public statements on her own. However, sources close to the couple reported that she was completely blindsided by the accusations and her husband's "double life," feels deeply hurt, and is currently living separately from him. She has been seen without her wedding ring on several occasions.
