Recently declassified intelligence documents by outgoing U.S. National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, reveal that the Biden administration covered up Dr. Anthony Fauci's crimes, particularly the fact that the coronavirus originated from a leak at a Chinese laboratory that the Democratic physician's office was funding.
Fauci was accused by an intelligence community whistleblower of lying to Congress under oath during a hearing in 2021. At that time, Biden made the unusual decision to divert the investigation and refer the complaint to the office of then-Health Secretary, Xavier Becerra, a Democratic official who is currently running for governor of California.
The declassified files show that Fauci had a discussion with the CIA about reports detailing that workers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China were already showing symptoms of the virus in the fall of 2019. This means that these employees would have fallen ill in the same facilities where the Democratic physician's office was funding controversial research on viruses in bats.
Despite these indications, Fauci doubled down on his claim that COVID-19 had naturally emerged from a live animal market located in the same area. The specialist even testified before Congress that his office had not funded "gain of function" research at the Wuhan lab, a statement that the very spy who reported him considered false and potentially prosecutable.

Biden's controversial presidential pardon for Fauci
"The complaint alleges that Dr. Fauci provided false testimony to Congress regarding the conduct of gain of function research at the National Institutes of Health, thereby misleading the American people and Congressional oversight", wrote the acting Inspector General of the Intelligence Community, Tamara Johnson, on August 11, 2021, to Biden's then-Intelligence Chief, Avril Haines.
Gabbard pointed out that the documents she released Thursday night, in her final hours leading U.S. government spies, demonstrate that Biden's White House officials participated in a massive cover-up to hide the origin of the pandemic from the public.
Additionally, the former congresswoman stated that Fauci also lied to Congress on another occasion in 2024, when he claimed under penalty of perjury that he had not spoken with intelligence agencies about the virus research.
Fauci retired from public service before Trump's return to the White House in 2025. Although the doctor denies committing any crime, Biden pardoned him in late 2024. Several Republican senators believe that Trump should challenge the legality of this pardon since it was signed by the Democratic president using an automatic pen (autopen), thus enabling a path to legally prosecute the doctor.
