The three leftist news outlets that President Donald Trump expelled from the White House threatened to initiate legal action and the head of state is willing to fight the legal battle.
CNN boasted on its website this morning that this outlet, along with MSNOW and POLITICO, filed what they call a "crucial First Amendment lawsuit" in the form of an emergency request to regain access to the White House. The complaint from the Democratic network will be evaluated by a federal judge in Washington DC and the parties will present their arguments this week
The three leftist rags issued a joint statement that reads as follows:
"This veto could not be a more direct assault on the First Amendment nor a more flagrant violation of our most fundamental constitutional principles. This morning we notified the government that we will file a lawsuit today to protect our rights under the First Amendment and defend the principle that the government does not decide what the press reports or publishes.
Without prior notice or due process, the White House revoked the credentials of our journalists because it objected to our coverage. If left unopposed, this threatens press freedom and the public's right to independent journalism free from government interference."
