Authorities reported a few hours ago that a leftist terrorist attempted to set fire this morning to the federal building in New York City that serves as the headquarters for the FBI field office and the city's immigration court.

The man, who had a history of activities against the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), was arrested at the scene and the incident is already being investigated by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Security cameras show the suspect igniting the incendiary device and throwing it into the headquarters before running away from the scene. Among the belongings of the terrorist, a backpack was found with a sign that read "ICE out of our streets," a knife, a hammer, and what is reported to be a pellet gun.

The statement from the FBI and Mamdani

"This morning, an individual activated an incendiary device in front of 26 Federal Plaza in New York. The individual is in custody and so far, two minor injuries have been reported. The FBI's JTTF is investigating the incident," said the director of the security agency, Kash Patel, in a statement.

Notably, Zohran Mamdani, the anti-ICE communist mayor of the city, did not condemn the act committed by the leftist militant. "What happened this morning in front of 26 Federal Plaza was deeply alarming. I am relieved that no one was seriously injured and that there is a suspect in custody," the city leader expressed.

"My team is in contact with the NYPD and we will support the federal investigation. Our administration will continue to ensure that every New Yorker is safe in their city, and will hold anyone who threatens it accountable," summarized the Ugandan communist.
