Leader of the Dutch Right: 'Victims don't take hostages; savages do.'

Geert Wilders once again condemned the Western powers that refuse to condemn Hamas and only criticize Israel

Dutch political leader Geert Wilders, known for his firm stance against radical Islamism and his open support for Israel, once again spoke out forcefully about the conflict in Gaza.

This time with a direct call for the release of the Israeli hostages kidnapped by Hamas.

In a message posted on his X account, Wilders stated: "Victims don't take hostages. Savages do," alluding to the inhumane treatment that Hamas and other terrorist groups are giving to more than 120 hostages who remain in captivity since the attack on October 7, 2023.

"Heroes support the kidnapped. Traitors support Hamas and call for sanctions. Which side are you on?" Wilders's message continued, as he has been one of the most critical voices in Europe regarding the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state by Western governments.

Wilders, leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV), has been one of the most consistent European politicians in his support for Israel, especially since the war began after Hamas's massive attack on southern Israel.

In July, the Dutch politician ridiculed the decision of French President Emmanuel Macron to recognize a Palestinian state, ironically suggesting that it should be established in southern France, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, "since much of the country is Islamic anyway".

"Good luck, Macron and France! Happy suicide!" Wilders wrote. He also warned that the Netherlands would immediately close its borders to prevent a similar situation.

In early June, Wilders announced his party's exit from the ruling coalition in the Netherlands, following disagreements with his partners regarding migration policies.

The politician demanded stricter legislation to completely stop the migration of asylum seekers, but his proposals were not accepted by the rest of the coalition.

Wilders's statements come at a particularly tense moment: while Europe discusses sanctions against Israel and some countries rush to recognize a Palestinian state, evidence of Hamas's crimes—such as the recent video of Evyatar David, a famished Israeli hostage held in inhumane conditions—barely receives attention from governments or from protesters marching under the banner of "humanity".

In that context, Geert Wilders's voice stands out for its clarity.

For the Dutch leader, this is not a conflict "between two equal sides," but a struggle between civilization and barbarism: "Victims don't take hostages. Savages do."
