The Israeli Army announced that six senior members of Hamas's naval command had been eliminated in recent months by Israeli security forces. Some of them participated in planning the October 7 massacre.
According to the IDF spokesperson, the operations were carried out as part of the offensive called Gideon's Chariots, through joint actions by the Navy, the Military Intelligence Directorate, Shin Bet, and the Southern Command.
The activists who were killed played a central role in promoting terrorist attacks from the sea against Israeli citizens and security forces during the Iron Swords war.
The eliminated individuals are:
Ramzi Salah, commander of the naval forces in the northern Gaza Strip;
Jamil al-Baba, head of the naval command in the central camps;
Rateb Abu Zuheiban, chief of the command in Gaza City;
Omar Abu Jalala, commander in Khan Yunis;
Muhammad Kashta, naval chief in Rafah;
Ahmad Ali, who had assumed the role as replacement for the naval commander in Gaza's capital.
IDF continues to eliminate terrorists
This operation is part of an offensive against Palestinian terrorist leaders. In fact, the Israeli Army and the internal intelligence service Shin Bet confirmed this Friday the elimination of Fadl Abu al-Ata, commander of the Shejaiya sector of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, along with another militant, during an operation carried out in June.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, Abu al-Ata participated in the infiltration into Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre and, since then, he has been involved in multiple attacks against Israeli troops.
On the same day, the IDF also announced the death of Hamed Kamel Abd al-Aziz Iyad, head of the engineering and explosives area of the Turukman Battalion, which belongs to Islamic Jihad.
