I didn't come to be repudiated: Lenia Batres during her visit to Querétaro

The Obradorist minister is repudiated during a public event, reflecting the popular discontent toward her candidacy

At a recent event in Querétaro, the minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Lenia Batres Guadarrama, was the subject of strong demonstrations of rejection.

The citizens who gathered did not hesitate to confront the minister, who is condemned for being a promoter of the government's reforms.

This incident highlights the growing discontent of the population toward official policies that seek to centralize power and weaken democratic institutions.

A history of confrontations and citizen discontent

This episode in Querétaro is not isolated. Lenia Batres has faced similar situations in other parts of the country.

In Puebla, for example, the minister was forced to cancel a lecture due to protests from Judicial Branch workers.

They demanded that she stop politicizing the issue of the judicial reform and focus on her jurisdictional responsibilities.

Meanwhile, in Zacatecas, during a forum on judicial reform, Batres was confronted by citizens, who accused her of misinforming the public and promoting political interests unrelated to justice.

Amid boos and complaints, the minister requested security to continue the event.

A false "Minister of the People"

Despite the constant repudiation Batres has been exposed to, the minister requested the INE to appear on the judicial election ballot as "The Minister of the People."

Additionally, she asked the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) to register her pseudonym. A process for which she paid just under three thousand pesos.

The series of demonstrations and rejections that Lenia Batres has faced in various states reflects clear citizen discontent toward the reforms promoted by the Morena government.

The population, aware of the risks these modifications represent for judicial independence and the balance of powers, has expressed their repudiation in a forceful manner.
