The images of an altar to Santa Muerte surrounded by half-burned candles are just part of the macabre discovery on a property in Teuchitlán, Jalisco.
In this place, now known as the 'Extermination Ranch', three clandestine ovens with severely charred bone remains were found, suggesting that at least 200 people could have been victims of this death machinery.
The group Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco was the first to alert about the magnitude of the discovery.
Among the remains, the authorities found nearly 400 pairs of shoes, suitcases, and piles of clothing, personal items that could belong to the victims of this extermination center.

The ranch, located just over an hour from Guadalajara, operated as a criminal training camp until September 2024, when it was dismantled in an operation that resulted in 10 arrests and two people rescued.
