Horror in Jalisco: 400 pairs of shoes and clandestine ovens found in Teuchitlán

The 'Extermination Ranch' reveals a pit of terror with charred human remains and an altar to Santa Muerte.

The images of an altar to Santa Muerte surrounded by half-burned candles are just part of the macabre discovery on a property in Teuchitlán, Jalisco.

In this place, now known as the 'Extermination Ranch', three clandestine ovens with severely charred bone remains were found, suggesting that at least 200 people could have been victims of this death machinery.

The group Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco was the first to alert about the magnitude of the discovery.

Among the remains, the authorities found nearly 400 pairs of shoes, suitcases, and piles of clothing, personal items that could belong to the victims of this extermination center.

The ranch, located just over an hour from Guadalajara, operated as a criminal training camp until September 2024, when it was dismantled in an operation that resulted in 10 arrests and two people rescued.

However, the hectares of the property were not completely searched at that time, allowing the traces of barbarity to remain hidden until now.

The walls of the ranch still show bullet impact holes, silent witnesses to the violence that prevailed in the area. "It's a fairly large property. Back then remains were found, but the entire area couldn't be processed," stated Salvador González de los Santos, State Prosecutor of Jalisco.

The trail of death and impunity

The discovery of these clandestine ovens once again highlights the brutality with which criminal groups in Jalisco operate. These are not simple executions, but a system of extermination meticulously designed to make bodies disappear without a trace.

This Thursday, elements of the Municipal Police of Teuchitlán guarded the property while personnel from the State Prosecutor's Office and the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences began processing the site.
