This Wednesday, the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism (FADU) once again became the scene of the forced politicization of students. Under the pretext of a "budget struggle," left-wing faculty and student unions are using students as political tools, forcing them to participate in a staged event they neither chose nor support.
The group Estudiantes Independientes - FADU reported that the occupation was decided by a few, communicated in a confusing manner and at the last minute, without consultation or the possibility to express disagreement. "They talk to us about a public and democratic university, but decisions are made without dialogue, without voting, and without respect for those who think differently," they stated.

Classes on the street and mandatory political tasks
According to testimonies, the unions and some faculty members forced students to hold classes in the middle of the public street, in front of FADU's main building on Bulevar Artigas, even those who attend other campuses. In addition, mandatory assignments about the budget were imposed, disguised as academic activities, while students who protested received responses such as: "that's how the faculty is."
Some students describe absurd and dangerous situations:
- "They told us that if we don't go, we'll be marked absent."
- "We're forced to make a poster about the topic for the final folder of the course."
- "It's dangerous to have classes next to the street."

Ocupación.
Students report that these actions put their safety at risk and affect their right to study, all in the name of political activism imposed by the unions.
