The senator and general secretary of the Communist Party of that country, Óscar Andrade, held a bilateral meeting in Havana with the dictator of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The meeting took place within the framework of the XXIV International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (EIPCO).
Díaz-Canel formally thanked the Broad Front member Andrade for his presence on the island and for the constant "solidarity" of the Communist Party of Uruguay (PCU) towards the "Cuban people."
During the event's statements, Andrade strongly criticized "foreign interference and the application of the Monroe Doctrine on the continent," pointing out that "what is happening to Cuba is also happening to Latin America."
He also described the Cuban Revolution as an "example of resilience" and emphasized that defending the island is a matter of principles.

While Andrade embraces a communist dictator who violates Human Rights and leads a tyranny that has been in power for 67 years, he has yet to explain the mega scam in Sunca, which occurred when he was its main leader in the construction union.
