La Derecha Diario interviewed one of the military detained in Domingo Arena, who spoke about the situation of the political prisoners housed in that prison.

He also addressed broader issues such as the revenge of Marxist groups against those who defeated the subversion half a century ago.

1- How would you define the legal situation of the detainees in Domingo Arena? Is it true that there are convictions or almost nonexistent evidence?

People deprived of liberty for alleged crimes against humanity are political prisoners. Basic guarantees of the criminal process are violated, such as the principle of innocence and the statute of limitations, among others.

Almost all of the prisoners are incarcerated based on fabricated accusations of alleged crimes committed half a century ago.

Without evidence and disregarding all types of testimonies or documents presented by the defenses, they are imprisoned in a ridiculous tragicomedy in which, from the very beginning, both the judge and the defense know the outcome.

If we add to these blatant acts of malfeasance the fact that the amnesty law intended to seal national pacification called the "expiration of the state's punitive claim," confirmed twice consecutively by different generations in popular consultations (Plebiscites and Referendums), in an unprecedented event in the history of democracies.

We can affirm that, as stated by Dr. Marta Valfre during a conference on "Justice in Debate" in the Acuña de Figueroa room of the Legislative Palace: "We are facing a criollo re-edition of the Holy Inquisition." The rule of law has died.

2- Do you think there is a spirit of revenge from Marxist groups against former military and former police who faced the subversion?

It is a lucrative revenge based on the false narrative of Marxist groups that in the past attempted to usurp democratic power through terror, and today present themselves as martyrs and social fighters.

An unrelenting indoctrination through culture has created the conditions to finance collectives, offices, and state agencies specifically dedicated to establishing a structure with legal framework included.

Offices like Ajprojumi (archives of the military justice of the time), think tank of the prosecution for crimes against humanity; the National Institution of Human Rights or the Human Rights Prosecutor's Office itself, among others, have been denounced as violators of the Constitution of the Republic by prominent jurists like Dr. Eduardo Lust. In Uruguay, communism applies the justice of the enemy.

3- What do you think of the attitude of the political leaders of the National and Colorado Parties towards the detainees in Domingo Arena?

The period of indoctrination known as the Marxist cultural revolution began in our country once democracy was restored.

Political ambitions, common interests, and remnants of the civic-military process inspired traditional parties with an enthusiastic complacency towards the advance of this cultural hegemony that, in passing, washed the consciences of many actors of the time.

This is how the theory of the two demons was invented. Over time, many leaders from the National and Colorado parties integrated part of the left's narrative, and their commitment to it led them to encourage this inquisition.

Only starting last year (October 2025), and thanks to the initiative of Senator Gustavo Zubia, a series of conferences called "Justice in Debate" began, in which political leaders like Dr. Lacalle Herrera, Sanguinetti, and parliamentarians like Senator Botana or Graciela Bianchi, among others, began to unmask the false history and denounce the malfeasance of the prosecution for crimes against humanity, and of the other organs of hatred and lucrative Marxist revenge.

For the first time, these topics began to be discussed in the parliamentary sphere by jurists and political leaders.

Currently, no politician is unaware of the ongoing violation of the rule of law or the inhumane and unjust situation of octogenarian prisoners for having defended the Homeland.

In reality, the situation of justice is so aberrant that politicians do not know what to do. For this reason, most prefer to look the other way.

4- Do you think that with the current government you will see a solution for the detainees in Domingo Arena?

The imminent exposure of this situation at the international level and the progressive reaction of the population, which is noticing the deception of the left and the historical scam of human rights policies, have driven three projects for house arrest.

While not a legal solution to the problem, it represents more of a smokescreen to dilute it. However, so far all have been blocked by the "political commissioners" of collectives of families of the disappeared.

By the end of this government period, the state will have spent 2 billion dollars on reparations to terrorists and their descendants, according to investigations by historian and journalist Álvaro Alfonso.

These public revelations and others in progress will likely encourage the solution of house arrest, although this would simply legitimize the processes and the unjust sentences currently in place.

Meanwhile, until this happens, elderly compatriots will remain in the death corridor, as Domingo Arena has been called.

5- How do you think the majority of Uruguayans view the detainees in Domingo Arena?

The strategy of the gag systematically applied by the media co-opted by the left for decades can no longer hide the sun with a finger.

It is enough to browse social media to notice that people no longer believe in the "boogeyman" of Marxist fascism.

In summary: The lawyer who questioned the enemy's justice in a conference to which she was invited by the European Parliament was dismissed from her position as an advisor by the Ministry of Defense, the revival of the gag law project against the denial of the narrative, and more reports of the disappeared.

The "slip" of the inquisitorial prosecutor declaring that he processes political prisoners, more trials against military personnel, more memory museums, more claims from the famished gangs of Crysol.... Everything indicates that public opinion and the demands of some international bodies are beginning to exert effects.
