Below, we review his business activity and his recent foray into politics.
Rolando Rozenblum has built a solid career as a businessman and union leader in the department of Maldonado, standing out for his ability to drive innovative projects and strengthen the local economic fabric.
He is the director of the construction company Casa Valor, a company recognized for its contribution to real estate development in the region, and CEO of the International College, a prestigious bilingual educational institution in Punta del Este that has attracted families from the Uruguayan and foreign elite.
This project, which required an investment of 25 million dollars, reflects his long-term vision to position Maldonado as a center of educational excellence and an attractive destination for international residents.
As president of the Chamber of Commerce of Maldonado until February 2025, Rozenblum led initiatives that revitalized local commerce and promoted the professionalization of the sector. During his tenure, the Chamber incorporated 145 new members, increased social benefits by 40% for more than 3,000 people, and organized key events such as the Business Recognition Dinner and the "Chamber of Commerce Leaders" series, which brought together 400 attendees per event.
Additionally, the program "The Chamber Listens to You" allowed visits to towns like Aiguá, San Carlos, Piriápolis, and José Ignacio to gather merchants' concerns. His work also included 630 meetings with authorities, businessmen, and entrepreneurs, as well as a meeting with President Luis Lacalle Pou, consolidating the Chamber as a reference in defending commercial interests.
Rozenblum also presided over the Jewish Community of Punta del Este-Maldonado (CIPEMU), where he promoted initiatives for social inclusion, education in values, and corporate social responsibility. His management facilitated the incorporation of small merchants into the formal system, offering training and support for their professionalization, which reinforced his image as a pragmatic leader connected to the community's needs.

Leap into Politics: Candidacy for the Mayorship of Punta del Este

In February 2025, Rozenblum resigned from the presidency of the Chamber of Commerce to fully dedicate himself to his candidacy for mayor of Punta del Este, a decision that demonstrates his commitment to public service. Running for list 28-CH of the Todos por Maldonado sector, within the National Party, he has the support of Deputy Diego Echeverría and the candidate for mayor Miguel Abella (list 88).
His candidacy has also received support from prominent figures such as Senators Javier García, Álvaro Delgado, and Gloria Rodríguez, who highlight his ability to lead and strengthen Punta del Este's positioning as a tourist and investment destination.
The launch of his campaign, held on March 11, 2025, at The Grand Hotel before more than 500 people, marked the beginning of a proposal focused on improving residents' quality of life and preserving Punta del Este's identity. Rozenblum proposes a management "like a company," with transparency, clear metrics, and strategic planning.
