The channel was founded in September 1996, and from that moment until now, it has been a propaganda outlet in favor of the Frente Amplio in general, and of the entire Uruguayan left in particular.
TV Ciudad is dedicated purely and exclusively to broadcasting programming in favor of leftist ideas, denigrating and insulting any social or political sector that is not aligned with the left.
With the taxes collected from all Montevideo taxpayers, the Frente Amplio administrations since 1996 have set up a television channel to carry out political, social, and cultural propaganda in favor of the left.
Any other expression that is not aligned with socialist, communist, or feminist ideas is denigrated or simply ignored.

Responsible mayors
First was Mariano Arana starting in 1996, who served again as mayor from 2000. In 2005, Ricardo Ehrlich took office, in 2010 the communist Ana Olivera, in 2015 the socialist Daniel Martínez, and in 2020 the radical feminist Carolina Cosse.
All these leftist mayors used the channel for their own benefit and in favor of the Frente Amplio.
With the money of all taxpayers in Montevideo, they misused the channel to attack everyone who doesn't share their ideology.
Attacks on those who think differently
Fundamentally, TV Ciudad is dedicated to attacking liberal, patriotic, nationalist, or conservative individuals or organizations.
Any individual or organization that holds liberal, patriotic, nationalist, or conservative ideals is immediately exposed to hatred and public contempt with lies and defamatory accusations.
Million-dollar budget
Montevideo has been covered in garbage for decades, the streets have potholes, and the squares and parks are full of filth.

Despite this, the various Frente Amplio mayors have strengthened TV Ciudad.
They have used it as a propaganda tool that, as mentioned, is paid for with the taxes of all Montevideo residents.
Waste of everyone's money
According to sources from Montevideo's own City Hall, the total budget for TV Ciudad was approximately 304 million Uruguayan pesos.
Around 7.6 million dollars annually.
It is an exorbitant and gigantic figure.
The city government doesn't carry out its basic tasks such as garbage collection, cleaning of squares, or street paving. However, it wastes millions on a propaganda channel.
The Uruguayan left, through Montevideo's city government, uses the taxes of all taxpayers to set up a propaganda machine.
It is worth remembering that TV Ciudad is broadcast 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This means that their propaganda message is broadcast all the time.
Of course, it is perfectly acceptable for a political organization to carry out propaganda and promote its ideology.
