Buenos Aires City will take a step toward electric mobility with the installation of 400 charging stations for electric cars. The initiative aims to facilitate the transition to electric vehicles and support the growth of this technology in the country.

The plan will be implemented over the next two years and will allow drivers to recharge their cars while carrying out their daily activities.

Strategic charging points

The 400 stations will be distributed among:

  • Service stations
  • Commercial garages
  • Sidewalks of parks or plazas
  • In front of public parking lots managed by the City Government

Currently, there are only 42 private stations with limited access, and many do not reach the minimum power of 22 kW. The new network will allow users to charge their vehicles quickly and safely.

Porteña Electromobility Program

The Porteña Electromobility Program will promote the installation of chargers through a public-private scheme. Private companies will be responsible for investment, installation, and maintenance, while the City will guarantee permits, urban planning, and technical requirements.

Each station will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology capable of supplying different models of electric cars. Users will be able to connect their vehicle and obtain energy in just a few minutes, optimizing time and efficiency.
