Next Sunday, April 26, Franco Colapinto will be the main protagonist of a historic exhibition in Buenos Aires. For the event, the man from Pilar will drive a 2012 Lotus E20, a car from the era before hybrid engines that stands out for its power and, above all, for the characteristic sound of its

V8 engine.

In the last few hours, Alpine, the team for which the Argentinian runs and the person in charge of the organization, published a video on social networks showing the car accompanied by a message: “We have a special delivery to Buenos Aires”.

The vehicle, designed by James Allison, has an important place in the history of Formula 1.

With that model, Kimi Räikkönen won the 2012 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which ended up placing him third in the Drivers' Championship in a season in which Lotus also excelled thanks to the contributions of Romain Grosjean to finish fourth in the Constructors' World Championship.

In terms of its characteristics, the E20 is equipped with a 2.4-liter Renault V8 engine, capable of reaching 18,000 revolutions per minute. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and can exceed 300 km/h, with a seven-speed semiautomatic gearbox. Its completely analog configuration and sound power make it an ideal piece for this type of urban exhibition.

The circuit will have a route of approximately two kilometers along the avenues of Libertador and Sarmiento, where fans can enjoy the passage of the car up close, which will wear the current Alpine colors instead of the historic black and gold of Lotus.

The event will mark a milestone for local motorsport. It will be the first time in more than ten years that a Formula 1 has toured the streets of Buenos Aires (the last was a presentation by Ricciardo aboard a Red Bull in 2012) and also the first time that an Argentine driver will star in an exhibition of this type

in Buenos Aires.
