Following the confirmation of the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the chances of seeing the Alpine pilot in the country at the end of next month are growing

The possibility of seeing Franco Colapinto in Argentina began to gain strength in the last few hours. The Alpine pilot could hold an exhibition at the end of April in Buenos Aires, as part of a promotional event that would allow the public to see it up close

.

The information was confirmed by Fabián Turnes, Secretary of Sports of the City of Buenos Aires, who explained that there are ongoing talks with the French team to finalize the event. “Alpine will probably come to Argentina next month. We're finishing seeing it with Alpine and Franco's team. These are all processes of trying to reach that Formula 1,” he said in a dialogue with Registered Marketing.

The initiative would take advantage of a break in the Formula 1 calendar, after the suspension of the races scheduled in

Bahrain and Saudi Arabia over the conflict in the Middle East. The plan includes a promotional exhibition that would allow the public to see up close the Argentine driver competing in the highest category of motorsport, and the chosen stage would be the Autódromo Oscar and

Juan Gálvez.

The works on the Gálvez

In parallel, the historic Buenos Aires highway is undergoing an ambitious remodeling process promoted by the City Government. The works seek to adapt the circuit to current international standards and allow major competitions to return to the country.

The first stage of the project aims to obtain approval from the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) to receive MotoGP starting in 2027, which would mark the return of the championship to Buenos Aires after almost three decades. The planned works include new boxes (32 in total), a renovated paddock and a redesign of the layout that includes specific variants for motorcycles and cars

The plan also contemplates an even more ambitious second phase: achieving Grade 1 approval from the International Automobile Federation (FIA), an essential requirement for Formula 1 to be held again in Argentina. To this end, structural reforms, track improvements, new grandstands, hospitality areas and services for the public are planned

.

The redesign of the circuit is overseen by German engineer Hermann Tilke, responsible for several of the modern layouts on the Formula 1 calendar. If efforts move forward, the Colapinto exhibition could become the first major event in the renewal process and a sign of the attempt to reposition the country on the world motorsport map
