The governor of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, reaffirmed his support for the Government after meeting with the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, at the Casa Rosada.

The meeting consolidated a “joint agenda” between the allied provinces and the administration of Javier Milei, at a key moment for the implementation of economic reforms.

Support for the Government's economic direction

During his participation in the AmCham Summit 2026, Cornejo was clear. He defended the continuity of the economic program

.

“We don't have to change the course of the macroeconomy,” he said. He also stressed that maintaining stability is essential for growth.

The support of the governor of Mendoza is added to that of other leaders who accompany the reforms promoted by the national government.

Tax Reform and Structural Changes

Cornejo raised the need to advance comprehensive fiscal reform. He proposed simplifying the tax system and eliminating distortive taxes

.

In addition, he asked to review the co-participation scheme. The objective is to generate real incentives for the private sector.

These proposals are aligned with the structural reform agenda promoted by the Government.

Political support in a challenging context

The meeting at Casa Rosada took place in a complex economic context. The fall in revenue has an impact on the provinces

.

Despite this, Cornejo confirmed his support. So did the governor of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio

.

The meeting included national officials such as Diego Santilli and Lule Menem.

Infrastructure works and private participation

One of the central themes was public works. The Government is considering enabling private investment in national routes.

This would allow provinces to move forward with infrastructure projects. In the case of Mendoza, the possibility of charging tolls is being evaluated

.

The initiative seeks to accelerate works without relying exclusively on state funding.

A key alliance to sustain reforms The

support of governors like Cornejo strengthens governance. It also makes it possible to move forward with substantive reforms.

The joint work between Nation and provinces appears as a central axis. Political coordination is key to sustaining the economic course

.

The meeting left a clear signal. The Government maintains political support to continue with its transformation program.
