The Paraguayan government of President Santiago Peña is going through a key stage in economic and political matters after a series of changes in his cabinet that reflect internal tensions and the need to consolidate growth.

The Paraguayan president recently decided to replace the Minister of Economy in a move that seeks to open a “new phase” in the country's fiscal and administrative management.

The appointment of a new incumbent in the economic area comes in a context of significant challenges, including an accumulated debt with State suppliers of more than 1.5 billion dollars and the need to improve the efficiency of public spending

.

At the same time, the Executive is trying to maintain the growth rate that Paraguay has shown in recent years, with indicators that even surpassed the regional average.

From the ruling party, they highlight that the country achieved significant progress, such as the reduction of poverty and macroeconomic stability, factors that Peña himself attributes to the combination of economic growth and focused social policies.

However, critical sectors point out that these achievements do not translate uniformly into improvements for the entire population, which generates political and social tensions. However, the data indicate that President Peña's economic reforms are developing the Paraguayan economy

in a positive way.

In parallel, the Paraguayan government maintains as its strategic objective to consolidate its international position, with the intention of attracting investment and advancing trade agreements, in a

competitive regional context.

This approach seeks to position the country as a relevant actor within Mercosur and to strengthen its economic profile at the global level.

Thus, Paraguay is at a crossroads: on the one hand, it exhibits positive indicators and growth ambitions; on the other, it faces structural challenges that test the government's capacity to sustain stability and distribute the benefits of development.

Santiago Peña's administration will be decisive in defining whether the country manages to consolidate its course or if the current tensions result in a scenario of greater uncertainty.
