The Government of Javier Milei ordered a reward of 20 million pesos for those who provide information to identify the whereabouts of the left-wing terrorist leader Galvarino Sergio Apablaza Guerra, who is a fugitive from the Justice and has been required for years by Chile for extradition
.The measure aims to accelerate the location of the former leader of the Patriotic Front Manuel Rodríguez, an extreme left-wing guerrilla group, identified by the trans-Andean country as responsible for “serious crimes linked to terrorism”.
Among the accusations against Apablaza are the assassination of then-senator Jaime Guzmán in 1991, as well as his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of Cristián Edwards, son of Agustín Edwards, owner of the newspaper El Mercurio.

From the Government of Milei, it was reported that those who have relevant data can contact the toll-free number 134 of the National Rewards Program, under the National Directorate of Regulations and Relations with Judicial Powers and Public Prosecutors. The objective is to obtain specific information that will make it possible to specify the arrest of the fugitive
.The decision comes after this week the Argentine Justice ordered the arrest for the purpose of extradition of Apablaza, who had been residing in the Buenos Aires town of Moreno under the condition of asylum for decades.
However, at the time of carrying out the procedure at his home, police officers found that he was not there.
Faced with this situation, the Chilean government, headed by José Antonio Kast, through the Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Claudio Alvarado, asked the Milei administration to make “greatest efforts” to achieve his capture.
