Pichetto proposed to the corrupt Cristina Kirchner to set up an “anti-Milei front”

The Peronist deputy Miguel Ángel Pichetto confirmed that he proposed to the corrupt and convicted former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to move forward in building a political front to confront the Government of Javier Milei.

The initiative was raised during a meeting that both held within the framework of the former president's house arrest and which, according to the legislator, lasted for more than an hour.

“It was a fraternal meeting,” Pichetto described, referring to the climate of dialogue. He further clarified that the exchange focused exclusively on the current situation and on the political challenges ahead

“We talk about the present and the future. We don't talk about the past. Perhaps some issues from the past could have been subject to discussion and we both cleverly prefer not to do so,” he said.

According to their story, they hadn't had a direct conversation for more than ten years. In this context, he explained that the central axis of his approach was the need to structure a broad and competitive alternative that seeks to confront La Libertad Avanza, the party of President Javier Milei, which leads the

polls by a landslide.

“What we do agree on is the need to... I transmitted this to them, my vision regarding the construction of a national front, something similar to what Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva built to confront Jair Bolsonaro,” he said.

In economic matters, Pichetto stressed that the possible front must present a clear orientation. “The program has to be capitalist, productive. Nothing of an old, interventionist scheme, the present State, all that crap that has already failed,” he said during an interview on

the streaming channel Gelatina.

The legislator also emphasized the importance of predictability and the political message. “Your proposal and your issuers cannot be dangerous ideas that determine that in a single movement the dollar goes from 1,500 to 3,000,” he said, stressing the need to avoid the uncertainty and instability that characterizes Kirchnerism

Asked about the role of governors and leaders who accompany projects promoted by the ruling party, he rejected criticism of these sectors. “Attacking them is a mistake,” he said, and considered that the concept of betrayal does not fit the political dynamic. “Circumstances change. The concept of treason doesn't exist,” he added

Finally, referring to the state of mind of the corrupt Cristina Kirchner, he said: “I saw her very well, with a lot of courage, enduring the situation. I think she takes it as another test of her long political career and she's very active.”
