The US president assured that the military offensive is still in an early phase.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, assured that he has not yet begun to “hit Iran hard” and anticipated that “the big wave has not even arrived”.

In a nine-minute telephone interview with CNN, the president stated that U.S. forces are achieving decisive results and that the military power deployed will set the course of the war.

During the conversation with journalist Jake Tapper, Trump was emphatic in describing the situation on the battlefield. “We're sweeping them away,” the president said, adding: “I think it's going really well. We have the best army in the world and we're using it.”

The president also referred to the evolution of the conflict and made it clear that the current operations represent only an initial phase. “We haven't even started hitting them hard. The big wave hasn't even arrived. The big one is about to arrive,” he warned, anticipating an intensification of the offensive

Trump's statements about the offensive in Iran

Regarding the estimated time of the confrontation, Trump argued that the development of the war is progressing faster than expected. “I don't want it to go on too long. I always thought it would be four weeks. And we are a little ahead of schedule,” he explained, suggesting that the results achieved so far exceed his administration's initial expectations

.

The president also confirmed that the United States is taking other measures in addition to the military offensive, although he stressed that the current priority is security. “Yes,” he answered when asked if his country is doing more to help the Iranian people regain control of their nation

.

He then added: "Yes, we are. But right now we want everyone to stay home. It's not safe to be outside.” In addition, he insisted that the level of risk will continue to increase in the short term

.

One of the aspects that Trump identified as unexpected were the Iranian attacks against several Arab countries in the region, such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, something that changed the strategic scenario.

The president highlighted the profile of the leaders of those countries, whom he described in laudatory terms. “I know these people. They are tough and intelligent,” he said.

In that regard, he noted that Iranian actions generated a strong reaction in the region. “They shot at a hotel, at an apartment building. It just infuriated them,” he explained, and reiterated that “that was probably the

biggest surprise.”

Trump remarked that the current conflict is linked to a threat that conditioned regional stability for years. “They have to understand that they lived under that dark cloud for years. That's why they could never have peace,” he said, referring to the Iranian nuclear danger

.

Asked about the political future of Iran and its potential leaders, the president admitted that there is uncertainty. “We don't know who the leaders are. We don't know who they'll choose. Maybe they'll get lucky and get someone who knows what they're doing,” he said

.

He also stated that the initial attacks caused significant losses in the leadership of the Iranian regime. “Forty-nine people,” Trump said, regarding the senior leaders killed, and concluded: "It was an incredible attack
