The United States government confirmed that all the enriched uranium that remained in a research reactor inherited by the country was removed from Venezuela, in an operation coordinated by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and executed under guidelines promoted by the Donald Trump administration.
The information was officially released by the U.S. embassy and by agencies linked to the Department of Energy. According to the statement, the extraction of nuclear material was carried out in cooperation with international partners and was presented as an important advance in nuclear non-proliferation and regional security.

“The safe removal of all enriched uranium from Venezuela sends another signal to the world of a restored and renewed Venezuela,” said Brandon Williams, administrator of the NNSA. The official also highlighted that “thanks to President Trump's decisive leadership, the teams completed in months what would normally have taken years.”
According to Washington, the operation made it possible to completely eliminate the enriched nuclear material that remained in Venezuelan territory, reducing risks related to proliferation and international security. The NNSA explained that these types of programs are part of U.S. policies to prevent sensitive materials from being misused or ending up beyond state control
