The mayor of El Chacay, in the south of the province, stated that the success of his administration was based on spending cuts and order

December 10 marked two years of Adrián Radice's tenure as mayor of El Chacay, a municipality located 43 miles (70 kilometers) from Río Cuarto, in Córdoba.
Radice demonstrated that, based on spending cuts and economic and administrative order, it is possible to carry out a successful administration.
El Chacay is a municipality of about 100 inhabitants, but in the summer, as it is a tourist area, the population reaches five thousand. "In the summer, the town is booming," the mayor stated enthusiastically.

"The biggest challenge was to eliminate the bad habits that existed in the town. Trying to organize the public accounts, which were truly terrible. The money was being misspent. So, seeking fiscal balance was urgent. As soon as we took office, within two months, we already had the accounts well balanced, and within six months, we already had money saved in a fixed-term deposit at the bank," Radice pointed out, reviewing his first two years in office.
He also stated that only by "managing the accounts well," in six months they lifted two embargoes that the municipality had.
"Consider that we receive from revenue sharing less than a senator's salary to maintain an entire town, the clinic, healthcare, schools. With that small portion of money, we have to juggle. With fiscal adjustment, we managed to do it," he said.

-What was it like to win the 2023 election proposing LLA's ideas?
-We won the elections in July of that year. We proposed something different from what the Peronists and Radicals were proposing. It was very similar to what happened at the national level. However, I don't even want to compare myself to the president. With different proposals, we said we could make changes. It was a revolution to be the first pure mayor from La Libertad Avanza.
-What is your contact like with the rest of the LLA leaders at the national level?
-I have spoken with leaders, yes. With Adorni, with senators, as well. I have had meetings at Casa Rosada.

-Do you have aspirations to occupy positions at the provincial level?
-I would love to, whether at the provincial or national level. However, I will be wherever they consider I am needed. I am interested in sharing a model that was implemented, which, although it is in a small municipality, is a model that works. I am talking with many mayors and I tell them what we did, which is a management model. What happens is that there is also a political cost, a cost of reducing expenses that not all mayors want to take on. However, if you are truly willing to balance the accounts and reduce expenses and the numbers add up, it can be done. It is simple.
