After a strong odor in the city of Córdoba, the Municipality issued a statement
Several citizens expressed fear due to the stench and the possibility that it was a gas leak or dead animals
Meanwhile the Municipality hasn't managed to solve the conflict over garbage collection, with a deficient and irregular service, a large part of the city of Córdoba was enveloped this Tuesday in a nauseating odor.
For this reason, and in response to numerous comments from citizens on social media, who were concerned that the stench could be harmful to health, officials from Palacio 6 de Julio issued a clarification on the matter.
Many thought it was a major gas leak, while others pointed to dead animals.

"It smells like boiled cauliflower" was one of the most frequently read phrases on the social network X regarding the issue.
Officials from the "Muni" indicated that the values measured by sensors are not outside normal parameters.
"As a result of the widely known phenomenon, related to the presence of strong odors, especially in the northern and central areas of the city this morning, the Environmental Observatory of the Municipality of Córdoba conducted a comprehensive analysis of the records obtained in real time through nine air sensors distributed throughout the capital," they stated.
Inspections at open-air dumps
According to reports, staff from the Environmental Control Department are conducting inspections at open-air dumps to detect possible burning points that could generate a foul odor.

The Municipality detailed that the focus is on the dump located on Japón Avenue, since residents of the area noted a greater presence of the stench in this location.
Meanwhile, the Environmental Impact Assessment Directorate mapped the industries in the area that handle substances capable of generating odors with these characteristics, a task that is still ongoing.
So far, no abnormal situations or toxic elements have been detected in the air quality that could pose any risk.
