Agustin Pichot on Los Pumas-All Blacks in Cordoba: It's no longer a feat to beat them
The former captain of the Argentine national team spoke about Saturday’s match at the Kempes Stadium
The former captain of Los Pumas, Agustín Pichot, stated that a victory by the Argentine national team against the All Blacks "is no longer a feat."
It is worth noting that throughout history, the Argentines have only managed to win twice in Oceania, while in the 1980s, they drew once when playing at home.
On Saturday, starting at 6:10 p.m., at the Mario Kempes Stadium in Córdoba, Argentina and New Zealand will face each other in the first round of the 2025 Rugby Championship.

A large crowd is expected, as all tickets have been sold. "It's going to be a rugby celebration," said Pichot.
Regarding the possibility of Los Pumas defeating the All Blacks, he pointed out: "They've already done it. It's no longer a feat for them to win. The team's maturity in recent years and the way they've been working... I hope they play a great match. I don't think it will be easy, but they have a very good team to play and beat them."
Pichot and his bet on Milei's Argentina
Agustín Pichot, a well-known TV and energy entrepreneur, highlighted the macroeconomic corrections promoted by the government led by Javier Milei, and called for stability.
"I still believe in and bet on Argentina. The country continues trying to find stability with Javier Milei. That's what it needs," he said.
Los Pumas in Córdoba and a historic economic impact
The match between Los Pumas and the All Blacks will bring together more than 55,000 spectators at the Kempes. Most attendees will arrive from different provinces, boosting reservations, consumption, and activity in various sectors.

This type of event confirms that a climate of predictability and national fiscal order favors investment and tourism.
The Córdoba Tourism Agency indicated that 3- to 5-star hotels are already at 100% occupancy, with the rest close to full capacity. The average spending of visitors, combined with their stay, will multiply the economic flow to local providers.
The sustained decrease in inflation allows more Argentines to prioritize traveling within the country and attending mass events.
The estimated economic impact will be around 60 billion pesos (132 million dollars), benefiting the capital and nearby tourist cities. Businesses, restaurants, transportation, and services will see significant activity in just a few days.
National macroeconomic stability and private sector confidence have been key to making this type of international event possible.
Top-level sports infrastructure in Córdoba, along with a wide range of hotel and restaurant options, enhances the province's competitiveness.
Air and land connectivity ensures that visitors can arrive comfortably and quickly from anywhere in the country.
These factors, together with the current stable economic environment, create ideal conditions for hosting international competitions.
