While Inter Miami advances in the tournament, Saudi club Al Hilal is seeking to entice the Rosario-born star and is already planning a meeting with Jorge, his father and agent
Since his arrival in Miami, Messi has scored 50 goals, provided 24 assists in 60 matches, and won the Leagues Cup title, the club's first in its short history. However, his camp is considering new alternatives, knowing that the 2026 World Cup looms as the last major goal in his career, and every step must be strategic.
Inter Miami is already thinking about its round of 16 match in the Club World Cup against PSG, however, Lionel Messi's future is once again at the center of attention.
According to the Arab newspaper Al-Midan Sports, Al Hilal president Fahd bin Nafel is in United States and has a meeting scheduled with Jorge Messi, father and representative of the world champion. The purpose of this meeting would be to entice the Argentine star with a multi-million dollar offer to bring him to Saudi football in this transfer window.
For weeks, the most powerful club in Saudi Arabia has been holding informal talks with Messi's camp, seeking to move toward a formal proposal that would end his time in MLS and bring him to the team that already features Neymar and other internationally renowned players.
Although the Rosario native is fully focused on Inter Miami's present in the tournament taking place in the United States, his contract ends on December 31, and for now there are no clear signs of renewal. In this scenario, Al Hilal wants to take advantage of the uncertainty to make a move and add him to its ambitious sporting and commercial project.
Meanwhile, as the future of the best player in the world is being decided, Al Hilal is also competing in the Club World Cup, and on Friday will face Pachuca in a key match for qualification. If it wins, it will advance to the round of 16 and will depend on the result between Real Madrid and Salzburg to determine its position.
For now, the Arab team has two dreams in parallel: to advance in the tournament and achieve the most important signing in its history.
