The current situation of Giuliano Galoppo is far from what was expected. With no place in the considerations of Eduardo Coudet and while he seeks a new destination to relaunch his career, the midfielder from River received news that complicates his situation even further: FIFA has sanctioned him and he will not be able to play official matches until he settles a debt of 530,000 dollars with his former representative.
The resolution of the Disciplinary Committee of the highest body of world football originates from a contractual conflict with Leandro Nicolás Escudero, who managed the player's career until recently. After the corresponding process, FIFA determined that the former Banfield player must pay the total amount claimed to regain his eligibility and return to competition.
The FIFA statement on Galoppo's sanction
According to the ruling, the debt corresponds to the unilateral termination of a contract between both parties. Furthermore, the organization explained that the decision became final after the intervention of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) and that, since the obligations established were not fulfilled, the immediate disqualification of the player to play official matches was ordered.
The sanction will remain in effect until the midfielder settles the debt or, at most, for a period of six months. In this regard, he will have until February 2027 to regularize his situation. Additionally, FIFA requested that the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and River immediately implement the restriction at the national level and formally notify the player, with the aim of ensuring compliance with the sanction.

Since his arrival at the Millonario in early 2025 from São Paulo, the Buenos Aires native has played 2,443 minutes, distributed over 48 matches, in which he scored 8 goals, provided 1 assist, and received 9 yellow cards and 1 red card. It is worth noting that he has not played since the 1-1 draw of the Núñez club against Red Bull Bragantino on matchday 5 of the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana (May 20).
