Thousands of people expressed their support for the federal agent through numerous donations on GoFundMe and GiveSendGo

A fundraising campaign created on the GoFundMe and GiveSendGo platforms to support the heroic officer of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Jonathan Ross, reached in a few days an amount exceeding $600,000.

According to the data published on the collection page, around $602,000 has already been raised between both platforms, thanks to the contribution of thousands of donors who expressed their support for the federal agent.

The initiative arose after Ross gained public notoriety following a federal operation carried out on January 7, 2026, in the city of Minneapolis, during which he shot and killed in self-defense Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old left-wing extremist who tried to kill him with her car.

The episode caused a strong political and media reaction, especially from sectors of the Democratic left, which criticized the officer's actions despite the fact that he acted to protect his life.

The case

The shooting occurred when Ross fired through the windshield of Good's vehicle while she accelerated toward him during an immigration control operation. The vehicle ended up crashing into the officer, endangering his life, which prompted the use of the firearm in a context of self-defense.

Previously, the left-wing extremist had interfered in an ICE operation, attempting to block the passage of police vehicles, resisted arrest, and ultimately endangered Jonathan Ross's life while she was attempting to flee.

The GoFundMe page was created with the aim of providing financial support to Ross, in a context in which he faces intense political persecution and public questioning for having defended himself during the federal procedure. The level of funds raised in a few days reflects significant support from thousands of people who voluntarily decided to contribute financially to his cause.

The story of Jonathan Ross

Jonathan Ross, who is married to a Filipino immigrant, has an extensive career in federal law enforcement agencies and dedication to the American community. He is a war veteran with almost two decades of experience, and he joined the Border Patrol in 2007. Since 2015, he has served as a deportation officer within ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) division.

In addition to his career in domestic security agencies, Ross has military training. He served in the Indiana National Guard and was deployed to Iraq between 2004 and 2005, where he served as a machine gunner on combat patrols. In the operational field, he also specialized as a firearms instructor and in response tactics for active shooters. He was part of the Special Response Team (SRT), ICE's elite tactical unit.

Another attempted murder against Ross

The officer's record includes a history of high-risk situations. In June 2025, Ross was seriously injured in the city of Bloomington after he was dragged more than 40 meters (131 feet) by a suspect's vehicle that was attempting to escape, an episode that highlighted the risks associated with his daily work.

Meanwhile, as the political controversy surrounding the Minneapolis operation continues, the fundraising on GoFundMe keeps growing and is approaching one million dollars. The donations reflect the support of thousands of people who value the fact that Jonathan Ross acted in self-defense and seek to support him in the face of the consequences arising from the case.
