Fassi added Palomino, a defender with international stature, to Talleres de Córdoba

The president of 'T' agreed to the addition of a new reinforcement for the team managed by Carlos Tevez

The president of Talleres, Andrés Fassi, has added a high-profile signing for the team managed by Carlos Tevez.

This is José Luis Palomino, a defender who has joined the club that will visit Independiente this Sunday at 9:00 p.m. for the second round of the Clausura Tournament of the Professional League.

The 35-year-old player brings international experience, as he comes from Cagliari in Italy's Serie A.

"I spoke with Tevez when I was in Bergamo. He called me in Italy. He told me about the projects he has. I arrived at a well-organized club, and I'm happy. Argentine soccer is very intense, where there is little play and a lot of running. However, I'll adapt as the matches go on," he said.

"I'm going to contribute experience and drive. After having played abroad for a long time, I feel I can help the squad quickly understand what's being asked. The most important thing is that we must be willing to work and to get through this situation," he added.

Who is José Luis Palomino, Talleres's new signing

Born in San Miguel de Tucumán, Palomino began his soccer career at San Lorenzo, a club where he spent four seasons and played 48 matches.

In the 2013/2014 season, he was transferred to Argentinos Juniors, and from "El Bicho" he made his first move to European soccer.

In June 2014, the 6-foot-3-inch (1.90 meters) tall defender became a Metz player, a team in the top tier of French soccer. He played 51 matches and scored 3 goals for the French side.

After his successful first spell, Palomino then played for Ludogorets (Bulgaria), Atalanta (Italy), and his last team was Cagliari, a club where he played 20 matches and scored 1 goal.

At the Bergamo club, Palomino established himself as an experienced player over seven seasons. The new Albiazul defender played a total of 175 matches and scored 7 goals.

While wearing Atalanta's jersey, in May of last year, Palomino was crowned UEFA Europa League champion after defeating Bayer Leverkusen in the final in Dublin (Ireland).

Experience, leadership, and quality for Talleres's defense.
