ANMAT banned Olivos Andinos and Olea Nativa oils for using false registrations and violating health regulations

The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) has banned the sale of two brands of olive oil throughout the country. The measure was published in the Official Gazette and aims to protect consumers from products with false information.
The affected olive oils are "Olivos Andinos" and "Olea Nativa", which displayed nonexistent registration numbers on their labels, according to the National Food Institute (INAL). This makes them counterfeit products and outside current health regulations.
ANMAT no ha autorizado a HLB a comprar certificados por lo que la interpretación del artículo periodístico es errónea, señalaron.
Irregularities detected in the registrations
According to ANMAT, both products lack a sanitary establishment registration (RNE) and a food product registration (RNPA). The violation contravenes the provisions of Law No. 18,284, Decree No. 2126/71, and the Argentine Food Code.
Investigations carried out by provincial authorities confirmed that the RNE and RNPA numbers listed on the packaging do not correspond to valid registrations. For this reason, the marketing of any batch, presentation, or expiration date associated with these labels is prohibited.
Products and false registration numbers
Olivos Andinos: RNE 12000375 / RNPA 1200884
Olea Nativa: RNE 13451702 / RNPA 13050452
The provision establishes that no company may market products displaying these registration numbers. The measure applies to the entire national territory, including Buenos Aires City and online sales.
