Apple would once again explore the field of devices with Artificial Intelligence. According to recent reports, the company is working on an AI brooch that users would wear on clothing and that would function as a complement to the Apple ecosystem.

The initiative is reminiscent of the AI Pin, a product that caused expectations but ended up being a failure in 2024.

A new step in Apple's diversification

In recent years, Apple has begun to diversify its strategy with products outside the traditional framework. Developments in mixed reality and home automation have been added to the iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch.

On that path, this AI pin appears, which would not replace the smartphone but would function as a smart accessory.

What the Artificial Intelligence brooch would be like

According to a report by The Information, the device would have a design similar to the AirTag, although it would be thicker. It would include cameras, microphones, and speakers, with wireless charging.

The heart of the product would be a revamped Siri, powered by recent advances in AI. The use would be centered on voice commands and environment recognition.

AI as the core and without a screen

Just like the AI Pin, Apple's brooch would not have a screen. The interaction would take place through voice and through environment analysis by its cameras. The proposal aims at a more natural experience and one that is less dependent on the phone, without displacing it.

Why the AI Pin failed

The AI Pin was developed by Humane, a firm created by former Apple employees and backed by Sam Altman. It promised to be a revolution, and it was even compared to the iPhone.

After its launch, the criticism was harsh. Technical failures, bad reviews, low sales, and even fire risks ended up burying the project.
