Mark Gurman revealed that Apple is testing a Siri capable of controlling any iPhone app with voice commands
A leak from Mark Gurman reveals that Apple is working on a much more advanced Siri than the one presented at WWDC24. The assistant will be able to perform complex actions by voice in any iPhone application.
The launch was planned for iOS 18, but it was delayed. Now, internal testing indicates that it could arrive with an intermediate version of iOS next year.

A leap for Siri toward total voice control
According to Gurman, Apple aims for Siri to allow users to fully operate the iPhone using only voice. The goal is to perform any function in apps without knowing the manual steps. It will be enough to simply ask the assistant.
Testing is already being conducted in both native and third-party applications such as Amazon, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Facebook. In sensitive apps, such as banking or health, the feature could have limitations for security reasons.
The Siri Apple showed and what's coming
At WWDC24, we saw a Siri with a redesigned interface and the ability to access iPhone data. From finding a dinner ticket in photos to planning an event with information obtained from messages.

The visual change includes a colored border around the screen instead of the classic lower sphere. However, the leaked version goes further: total integration with apps and a much more natural interaction.
Gradual rollout
Apple plans to integrate the improvements gradually. The first stage will be contextual Siri, which will debut in 2025, possibly in the spring with iOS 26.4.
