Apple has been developing joysticks for gaming on the iPhone for over a year and could launch them under the Beats brand.
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, there are two devices in development. The devices are internally identified as T6502 and T1057.

According to Gurman's report, the two controllers are being developed under the Beats brand.
The Beats executives are in charge of both the product engineering and its conception. The report does not specify when a controller with the Apple brand might hit the market.
According to Gurman, Apple has previously used Beats to explore new product categories without directly associating its own brand with the experiment.

A Beats controller could also be priced lower than a product with the Apple brand.
The reason cited by Gurman is that it would not require the premium materials and finishes that Apple applies to its own devices.

Additionally, the journalist stated that there is considerable overlap between Beats buyers and gamers, both in tastes and culture.
MacRumors had previously reported that one of its readers found profiles for the two devices within the first candidate release version of macOS 26.
The code describes two conventional controllers with differences in their internal functioning.

Analog triggers.
Home and Menu buttons.

The presence of the profiles in GameController suggests that software support has been incorporated for users.
The profiles do not only appear linked to internal versions of the system, according to the provided information.

So far, Apple has not directly entered this category and has been selling hardware from other companies.
Its online store offers controllers for the iPhone made by Backbone and SteelSeries. Additionally, iOS has been compatible for years with PlayStation and Xbox controllers.
