Embark Studios confirmed that Arc Raiders will receive its next major update, titled Shrouded Sky, on February 24. The content is part of the Escalation Roadmap and aims to significantly modify the dynamics of the game during this year.

The update incorporates a new weather condition, an unprecedented aerial enemy, a revamped Raider Deck with free rewards, changes to the environments, and the opening of a new expedition window.

Extreme weather that changes strategy

The main novelty of Shrouded Sky is the introduction of strong winds on the map. This weather condition will directly affect movement, aiming, and team coordination.

The dynamic weather will force players to rethink their tactics. Visibility will be more limited and movement less precise. In addition, the wind can influence encounters against the Ark, the enemies controlled by artificial intelligence.

Embark Studios seeks to reinforce immersion. The idea is that the environment will not be a simple backdrop, but a decisive factor in every match. The unpredictable weather will increase tension and the need for cooperation.

New aerial enemy and higher difficulty

Shrouded Sky also adds an unprecedented flying threat. Although no concrete details were revealed about its abilities, the design anticipates an enemy with high mobility and attacks from above.

The combination of intense wind and aerial adversaries will raise the difficulty. Players will have to coordinate roles and manage resources with greater precision. The community expects more varied and demanding combat.

The expansion of the enemy roster responds to the demand from those who seek fresh and less repetitive challenges. The update aims to break the routine and keep interest in the game active.

New Raider Deck and map adjustments

The patch includes the third Raider Deck, a free progression system similar to a battle pass. Players will obtain rewards as they complete objectives and accumulate matches.

This model prioritizes accessible incentives. Although paid cosmetic bundles could be incorporated, the core of the system will remain free.

Meanwhile, the existing maps will receive modifications. These are not completely new environments, but adjustments in specific areas to adapt them to the new weather and balance the experience against the added threats.

Finally, a new expedition window will be enabled. This feature will allow players to activate special events or reset characters to obtain exclusive rewards.

With Shrouded Sky, Arc Raiders deepens its cooperative focus and commits to a more dynamic, strategic, and challenging experience for its community.
