The Albiceleste prevailed by the minimum against Los Cafeteros and will face Morocco in the decisive match
Argentina keeps the dream of the seventh alive. In a fiercely contested match, the Albiceleste defeated Colombia 1-0 and will play a U-20 World Cup final after 18 years.
The Cafetero team started by dominating the offensive actions, with high and constant pressure, leaving Diego Placente's team unsettled. Meanwhile, the physical game was one of the initial protagonists, with several minor fouls from both sides.
Clearly dominated by its rival, Argentina tried to recover from the Colombian onslaught and started to create its own opportunities, although without much danger.
Meanwhile, the physical aspect gained importance in the match and fatigue began to become evident, especially for Colombia. So much so that in the 35th minute, Joel Cachimbo, Colombian forward, left the field injured on a stretcher, being replaced by Jhon Rentería.

Despite some isolated chances from both teams, the first half ended without any changes to the scoreboard, leaving a very even match before the break.
In the second half, Placente made two substitutions: Mateo Silvetti and Tobías Andrada for Ian Subiabre and Valentino Acuña. At the start of the second half, Colombia had several dangerous plays that were just barely cleared by goalkeeper Barbi and the center backs of an Argentine team that also showed its attacking weapons, although with less effectiveness.
It was not until the 61st minute that the referee showed the first yellow cards of the match: to Juan Villalba on the Albiceleste side and to the recently entered Rentería on the Cafetero side for a dispute over the ball. For the same action, the national coaching staff called for a review with a green card for a kick by the Colombian player without the ball, however, the referee's decision ultimately was not changed.
As the minutes passed, Argentina began to neutralize Colombia, and had its clearest chances up to that point. In that context, the substitute Silvetti scored the 1-0 after a great assist from Gianluca Prestiani.
The goal gave a boost of confidence to the Argentine youngsters, who kept creating scoring chances and making the opposing goalkeeper stand out. Meanwhile, the adverse result led to the opponent's desperation, even resulting in Rentería's expulsion for a second yellow card in the 79th minute.

The rough play took over the match again with another yellow card for the national team, this time to Dylan Gorosito for a kick to Juan Arizala. The foul also had two consequences: a yellow card for Colombia (to Royner Benítez for confrontation) and a green card review was used for a possible red card that did not come for Gorosito, who left the field minutes later for Santiago Fernández to avoid being sent off.
Towards the end, Tobías Andrada received the third yellow card for Argentina with a tactical foul to protect the result, and Placente substituted Prestianni for Santino Andino with the aim of holding on during the additional minutes, which he achieved and the match ended 1-0.
With this qualification, Argentina will face Morocco in the final, which eliminated France 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes of play. The decisive match will be held on Sunday, October 19 at 8:00 p.m. at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos, while the third-place match between Colombia and France will take place on Saturday the 18th at 4:00 p.m. at the same venue.

It should be noted that the Albiceleste will play its first final in 18 years. The last one was in Canada 2007, an edition in which it won the championship for the sixth time.
