'Avowed' confirms its PS5 release with New Game+ and new content

Avowed, the fantasy RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, already has an official date for its arrival on PlayStation 5. The game will arrive on Sony's console on February 17, 2026, accompanied by a free update with new content.

The announcement took place within Xbox's multiplatform strategy and was confirmed by Obsidian and Microsoft. The title had debuted on Xbox Series and PC in February 2025.

An anniversary with content expansion

The launch on PS5 will coincide with the game's first anniversary. To celebrate, the studio will release a major update that will arrive on all platforms.

The main novelty is the long-awaited New Game+. This mode will allow players to restart the story while keeping abilities and equipment, but with more demanding enemies and reinforced challenges.

New races, photo mode, and improvements

According to the game's director, Gabriel Paramo, the update will add new playable races and more options for the character creator. These are adjustments that the team could not polish for the original release.

A photo mode will also be added, a feature that has been highly requested by the community. It will allow players to capture environments, battles, and characters with different camera options.

A strong commitment to classic RPG

Avowed offers a first-person role-playing experience set in the Pillars of Eternity universe. It combines magical combat, free exploration, and narrative decisions.

The arrival on PS5 strengthens the opening of titles that have been historically tied to the Xbox ecosystem. It is a clear sign of Microsoft's new commercial direction.
